Good morning, I'm going to be new to the field in a couple of weeks, I think this will be an outstanding job for me as I'm an outside and people person. Currently Active duty Marine with 14 years in service, stuck in an office job as a Retention Specialist. Any help in locating a mentor in the Rancho Cucamonga area or just tips in general would be much appreciated. Thanks and Semper Fi. Mike Woods

Mike,

The outside people person. The outside part is good. The people person part might not help out. Appraiser are use to working alone. If fact many apprasiers are in this line of work because they are NOT team players and like to work at home alone.

If fact many appraisers tried real estate first, but didn't sell a single house. So they got into the apprasial biz.

Thanks for a reply, looks like the only one, The outside thing is right on, I also like to work on my own, but I can deal with speaking and meeting new people. It looks like it's going to be rough getting started as no one wants to take on trainee's, or locating the right person is difficult. I'm going to keep charging though, just something that's in my blood. Thanks again for the reply, any other advice would be appriciated. Semper Fi! Mike Woods
