Finally, the bloated bureaucracy is going to be reduced and held accountable. Will the phony baloney jobs actually go away? https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...government-workers-benefits-and-job-security/

Hiring freezes, an end to automatic raises, a green light to fire poor performers, a ban on union business on the government’s dime and less generous pensions — these are the contours of the blueprint emerging under Republican control of Washington in January.

What good idea, how come past politicians did not think of this? Oh, maybe currying favor for votes. :)

Nope, it won't be a mess at all. Federal workers will not be going on strike because under the Federal Labor Relations Act and other statutes federal government workers have no right to strike and federal workers who do strike can be terminated immediately. In fact, strikes by federal workers are illegal under federal law:
5 U.S. Code § 7311 - Loyalty and striking
An individual may not accept or hold a position in the Government of the United States or the government of the District of Columbia if he—
(1) advocates the overthrow of our constitutional form of government;

(2) is a member of an organization that he knows advocates the overthrow of our constitutional form of government;

(3) participates in a strike, or asserts the right to strike, against the Government of the United States or the government of the District of Columbia; or

(4) is a member of an organization of employees of the Government of the United States or of individuals employed by the government of the District of Columbia that he knows asserts the right to strike against the Government of the United States or the government of the District of Columbia.

The air traffic controllers represented by PATCO learned this lessen the hard way when Reagan fired virtually all of them when they went on strike. He gave the striking works 48 hours to return to the job and then fired everyone who did not return to work at the end of the 48 hours.

In fact, there is nothing more that Trump and his administration would like to see than for some federal workers to go on strike because they could immediately get rid of those people.

We have this little problem, it is called debt and it is now $20 trillion. Government waste, fraud, abuse and expansion are part of the problem.
