It tells me that forum doesn't exist. So whats the secret code?

Ha ha! You just posted a message on General Appraisal Discussion!

Seriously all you have to do is click on a forum name and it comes up. To go back to the index of forum click on AppraisersForum.com Forum Index at the top of the messages. To post a new message click on "new topic", to post a reply click on "post reply". It's that simple

Navigation back to the main page is at the top and bottom of each page and it looks like this:

AppraisersForum.com Forum Index -> General Appraisal Discussion

So to get back to the main page click the "index", go get back to the main page of a forum click "General Appraisal Discussion".

Wayne:

What Joan might be referring to is, where are the other Post that were made prior to this new Software, and if these two Systems are merged together, or has the old system been eliminated together with all the older Post? Currently we are posting to Post that were made on the old System, but there doesn't seem to be a link to get to or reply to those old post. That drop down menu for one day, 7 days, etc. just displays what has been posted with the new Software. :?:

The posts from the old system can not be merged into this system.

However I will make the 30,000 posts from the old system available in a convenient, searchable format soon.

Right now, I want to test this new system and make sure it is suitable under a sufficient posting load.

What do you mean we cant see the 30,000 previous post---just re-type them in here---your not getting lazy on us are ya....

This new system doesn't have "email forwarding". If it does do we have to sign-up again under this new System. If so where is that sign-up dialog area located?

You can get an email whenver a topic is added to, click "watch this topic" down at the bottom of the page to do this.

Also, when you post a message if you will make sure that "email responses" is checked, it will send you a response.

There will be no daily digest like the other board. That had become unmanageable. I doubt if most users read them anyway since they were so large. I got many sent back automatically by the receiving mail servers as being too large.

Anyway, let me know if there is a problem.

I like this new system, but if high traffic was a problem before, it doesn't seem to be a problem now.

Austin,

High traffic wasn't a problem before. It was organization of the messages so anyone could find what they were looking for. For example, you start a thread about something, get 10 or 15 responses, and in a week it is in the archives due to the volume of new posts, that always went at the top of the board. Who is going to read it then? Yes you could search and find things, but with this system, the topics will stay in the front of everyone much longer! And it is so flexible! I can add forums in less than a minute! With the other software I had to set up a completely new forum!

As far as the number of posts since the new software has been online I am pleasantly surprised that it has been so high! We have had over 230 posts in the 24 hours it has been online!

When others figure out the new system, it will be more.

Yes, there will be some that won't accept it, just like there are some appraisers that had to be dragged kicking and screaming in to the computer world! I knew appraisers that continued using typewriters for their reports for many years after I was using a computer! However once they got acquainted with a computer and saw how it could help them, they would never go back.

The same is true of this software if they will give it a chance. I will help them any way I can, and will give them personal instruction, however if they have their mind made up that it is not for them, there is nothing I can do to help them.

This software will allow our appraiser users to go to the next level as far as communicating with each other and sharing information!
