REMEMBER YOU ONLY HAVE 3 MINUTES!

Easy 3 minute test: are you a genius???

congnitive relection test: developed at MIT

if you solve these 3 problems in your head in 3 minutes, then you are intellectually gifted.

one correct: average
two correct: top 1% IQ
three correct: superior intellect, not accurately measurable.

harvard students: averaged 1.43
princeton students: averaged 1.63
MIT students: averaged 2.18
carnegie mellon students: averaged 1.51
U Michigan students: averaged 1.18
U Toledo students: averaged .57

1. a bat and a ball cost $1.10. The bat costs $1.00 more than the ball. How much does the ball cost?

2. it takes 5 machines 5 minutes to make 5 widgets. How long does it take 100 machines to make 100 widgets?

3. in a lake, there is a patch of lily pads. every day the patch doubles in size. if it takes 48 days for the patch to cover the entire lake, how long would it take for the patch to cover one-half the lake.

I think it took me 30 seconds to answer all 3 correctly. No I did not look at the other postings with the correct answers. I'm just brilliant.

"Kato on vacation?"

No, Kato had classes to teach at MIT. He was the brains in the operation.

Each machine made 1 widget. It took 5 minutes for 1 machine to make 1 widget. So it doesn't matter if there's 1 machine, 5 machines or a million...it takes each machine 5 minutes. You can assume that each all machines are working during the same time period so that after 5 minutes 100 machines would have created 100 widgets.
