Hi I’m very glad that I found this forum, I’m overwhelmed with information’s.
Don’t know where to start.
I’m from Germany and since 1993 in the United States; I’m a civil engineer for construction side management, with diploma form the University of Aachen. I need to change my career, September 11 has wiped out my former employer, and I think a lot of you folks had the same problem.
While I was selling my house, I saw some opportunity for me to be also the appraiser business with my background, but I don’t know where to start. My living place is in CA, Laguna Niguel.
Can some one tell me how to start and where to go? I saw also some postings for trainee place, and I think this is important to look early. Any help from you I appreciate.

Alwin, guten Tag, und willkommen an der USA ! Ich bin jetzt fast vier Jahre Appraiser gewesen. In anderen Arbeitstellen war ich zehn Jahre ein Verkaufsman, und fruher fur elf Jahre ein Geologer/Geophysiker in Erdolnachvorschung gewesen. Es ist im Anfang ganz wichtig, daB man einen guten Lehrer hat. Ich meine, daB man solchen Arbeitgeber haben muB, weil diese Person gleiche Verantwortlichkeit mit dienen Anmeldungen hat. Kennst du irgendeine andere Appraisers ? Sehe die Telefonbuch an, in den "Gelbenblattern", und besuche einigen von ihnen. Bevor du zu viele Geld fur Kursen, Werkzeuge und Software, u.s.w., ausgibst, muB du diesen Mentorverhaltnis schaffen. Ich wunsche dir viel Gluck und Erfolgnis mit Appraising. Bis spater !
