Commercials Gurus,

Are there any good resources of information on appraising industrial properties out there (books, articles, web sites, etc.). I have several comparable sales but also would like to have some additional information or research which outlines what the major characteristics must (or should be) addressed within a report of this nature.

Thanks in advance.

Bryan

The Appraisal Institute has a 120 page paper back titled "A Guide to Appraising Industrial Property". I have one in my library. It's pretty basic, but it's a start if you've never done one before. I'd also have to say if you don't have experience with them, you can't appraise one from a text book. Find another appraiser in your market that is willing to help. It's called complying with the competency provision.

You can go to www.appraisalinstitute.com and order the book. It's a good resource.

Mr. Ness,

I have attempted to find that book on the web site and even called four different AI phone numbers and no one has ever heard of that title. Could you tell me when this was published? It may be that it is no longer available. I might be able to get something through the Lum Library but not being a member this may not be possible.

Thanks,

Bryan
