I would think you'll find this article interesting. I did. I came across it while searching for the latest news on the oil market investigations.

There's material for both Bush and Clinton haters alike. So it should appeal to most here.

The article goes into more depth than anything you'll see in the mainstream media and makes some rather shocking conclusions. You may or may not agree.

Thanks CWD,
A very interesting report. It is hard to believe that HUNGER is now food insecurity! I remember as a kid the old folks describing life in the 1930's. It looks as if all of us are going to get a first hand look at that life style up close and personal real soon!

Yes, so instead of "the hungry" they are now the "insecure". Absolutely, amazing. Orwell had it all right. The next trend will be to tell us gas prices have dropped by $.15 to $4.15 a gallon. I can't wait until November. I'm not particularly pleased with the current candidates but, ANYONE has got to be better than Bush.

I am starting to understand how some of the passengers on the Titanic must have felt! They did not have any input as to the operation of the ship and no input into the life raft process. All they could do was watch as the ship went down! Of all the candidates Ron Paul seems to be the only one who has a clue about the economy and he could not prevent the collapse even if he were elected. So, let's just grab a good deck chair and watch the next major history lesson unfold!

Various analyses show that ethanol distilled from corn uses more energy to produce than it provides. It's also a worse greenhouse gas emitter than crude oil and it's driving up feed costs for cattle ranchers, hog farmers, and egg producers, which is a big reason why eggs are much more expensive.
Biofuels will save the world. :rof:

I think biofuels do have a future. That time is not now, however. It's like any other technology. It needs to develop. Even early cars were only as efficient as 3 gallons per mile, if I remember correctly.

Unfortunately, when it comes down to it. The rich and powerful will burn "our" food to fuel their needs.

Oh, BTW, I took a road trip to visit family a couple of weeks ago. I would suggest avoiding ethanol mixed gasoline. My fuel economy was affected by about 2mpg versus 100% gasoline. It doesn't justify the $0.02/gallon savings most places give. And on the interstate, you're lucky if they discount it that much.

Yes, I will. :new_all_coholic:

"It's a political decision to make the poor buy food in the marketplace".

Wow, I never thought of it that way. Not too bad an article for a mush brain leftist author.

"740 million tons of grains were fed to animals last year and that would cover the food deficit at the moment 14 times over."

My wife is a vegetarian and I don't eat red meat except maybe on holidays so I'm doing my part to eat lower on the food chain! :new_all_coholic:
