Is this where the industry is headed??

email,
"I just lost another order due to not having an X site. The second one
in 2 weeks. They said I had to have ACI or an X site. I think an X
site costs $175 or so. I'm beginning to wonder after reading all the
scary threads on the forums about the big A muscling their way into
everything, is it worth it buy an X site? Furthermore, I hate to
blaspheme, but is it worth it to switch to the big A? What is everyone else doing?" (edited to protect the innocent)

I promote my intelligence for my service and I will not succumb to artificial intelligence for work. I work for neighborhood banks and not for national lenders.

2 software choices, the big A that has suspect history promoting appraisal report signature security, or the "Bigger" A, that at least in public, politics on our behalf.

I have one client who uses XSites. I just hooked up with them at the beginning of the year and its made having it worth it. Prior to that, if I got 2 orders through Xsites in any one year that was a lot.

I get a lot of business generated through the x-site. I am happy with the investment.

Yeah, but how can an AMC 'require' you to have an X-site or ACI?

AMCs may or might not be able to, but their clients might have the means to require it.

While I agree with you 100% and have the same type of clients, I feel we will soon be dinosaurs, as in extinct.

Elliot,

I recently switched over to the big A, Ala Mode. I was a die hard Dayone user from the beginning. When they sold to Zaio, I knew it was time to change.

I have not even begun to examine the x-sites. There are so many features to learn. I had purchased the full package from Ala mode and was at the point of cancelling due to the learning curve. The sales rep, Joe.Buell@alamode.com, walked me through a few problems and gave me a hefty discount on the package with a refund of the difference. For disclosure, other than purchasing their software, I have no financial gain or affiliation with them.

I LOVE the software and look forward to learning the rest of its abilities. We will see how I feel when the renewal is up. So far it cuts about 20 minutes of each appraisal.

Ala mode's success depends on appraisers using its product. I am aware that their poilitical actions are for their own good, but it is nice to have my interests intersect with theirs.

Just my two bits.

I have been an Alamode user for 14 years and have no real complaints recently, but I get no real business from my x-site. I recently saw a picture of Dave Biggars and I expected a taller man with more hair.
