Former major league baseball player Jose Canseco, pictured, "said on Thursday he had lost his California mansion to foreclosure -- one of the first celebrities to publicly admit being a statistic in the U.S. housing crisis," the Associated Press said.

In comments to the TV show "Inside Edition," Canseco says, "It didn't make financial sense for me to keep paying a mortgage on a home that was basically owned by someone else."

That guy is a loser.

TC

He admitted what he was doing on national TV. The fact that he admitted it was the only difference between him and a lot of other people.

He talk's like a man that's took a lick on the top of his head.

This guy has earned over 50 million dollars in his career. Anyone feel sorry for him?

When I was working at the Bankruptcy Court, there were several famous athletes that filed in our court. One of them was a habitual filer of Chapter 13's. This athlete also made about 50 million in his career.

There were also several people that had one over 10 million in the lotto that filed as well. They tend to live way over their heads & they think the money will be there forever

Give me 50 million, I guarentee that I won't file bankruptcy!:icon_mrgreen:

I won't be greedy. Give me $2. It's $2 more than I have now! :icon_mrgreen:

Before anyone slams Canseco, you've got to realize that many of these guys have millions thrown at them at a young age, many like Canseco are uneducated, but even the so-called "educated" athletes like OJ are given a free ride through college and a degree, but can hardly read or write. I have to wonder what would happen to me if people had thrown millions at me in my 20s and then my career came to an end. You also have to give Canseco credit for being the first one to expose the steroid scandal, he admitted it, even if he did it to make money writing a book, but a better guy than a flake like Roger Clemens who is still denying using steroids.

The fact that he admitted it was the only difference between him and a lot of other people.

Exactly. He represents a small fraction of the foreclosure reality.
