Frank~

As always...Mr. Informative! :lol:

Thanks for the info.!!! :wink:

Frank,
I bit on your topic, clicked it and thought you meant NASCAR in Dover :lol: We joined the Monster Mile Club this year, which is the all day event.....7 a.m. breakfast, meet the drivers, tour the track and garages, lunch, entertainment, etc. :D ..... I'm sure the event you're speaking of will be interesting, too :wink:

I thought he was talking about Spring.

Got to get this foot of snow off of my lawn and the ice off the lakes soon. That new fishing boat needs to be checked out.

Isn't it a shame such an event has to be scheduled in the armpit of the nation? Why not in some area easy to ingress/egress and nowhere near so costly? Say Myrtle Beach?

I attended their public meeting in Scottsdale, AZ Tuesday April 9th. Very interesting. I was disappointed in Arizona appraisers tho, only about 5 of us there. About 50 people from all over the country. Learned some things and re-confirmed some thoughts I had. Veru worthwhile experience. Attend any public meeting the Foundation holds that is possible--it will be worth while!! Check out the Foundations web site for meetings and locations. And it was interesting to meet people and put faces to names.

Jo Ann,

NAR had two of their folks at the Scottsdale meeting. Jan Tarnow, the Staff Executive for the NAR Appraisal Committee was there and Rick Baumgardner, the NAR Representative on the Appraisal Foundation Board of Trustees attended as well. Rick was attending on behalf of the BOT in an oversight role.

Were you able to meet either? Sorry I didn't make the trip and missed the chance to meet you.

I think I remember their names when each person in the audience introduced themselves, but I don't think I meet them personally. I keep seeing or hearing the names of people I recognized, so I was "kinda fliting around" the room talking all the time. And didn't get to meet all the people I would have liked to. But it was a very worth while experience and I do encourage everyone to attend any meeting that is possible. Had some discussions about manufactured homes, "created sales" and update letters. Future should be interesting!

Francois;
Slightly following all these new changes within the industry and it doesn't look good for us, from a business standpoint. First off major changes in BPO's in most states; now your input in regards to changes possible in Title XI; next it'll be the elimination of the requirement for Cerified Appraisers. Personally don't see a point in wasting my time, learning any more of what appears to be the ratification of the business.

Secondly, posted a portion of an article out by REV amgazine about a week ago in regards to who basically controls our Industry (Lenders) - so they can pretty much eliminate our business anytime they want; they have already proved they have NO regard for the public, with regards to Fee's; or anything else. This isn't a business, it's a controlled joke perpetrated by the banking industry.

Good Luck 8)
