Several weeks ago there was a post by Katherine Reynolds Lewis asking for our help with an article she was writing regarding pressure on appraisers. I remember seeing lots of replies and advice and I'm sure she appreciated all the help she was given.

I've been reading a lot of posts on this forum ... and like most of you ... I am tired of all the problems I see in the profession and the lack of action in many cases of the powers that be. I've also seen a lot of suggestions on what should or could be done ... and I also know that there are limitations on what a few can do to make a difference.

Ms Lewis gave us a simple and easy opportunity to bring some public attention to the problem ... writing is her business. That being said, "god helps those who help themselves" ... something I heard a lot of when I was a kid (sorry if you're a non-believer).

As posted by Pam ... we need to get more active. The more press we get ... the wider the audience ... and the more attention and someone like Ms Lewis is perfect. It shouldn't be that difficult to come up with several wide-spread issues that are placing the public, investors, housing, etc. at risk ... things that would tie directly to previous bank failures, fraud, etc ...

The point is this ... we can help her help us by simply identifying issues ... and beating them to death like we tend to do ... until she has enough ideas, opinions, thoughts, leads, direction etc. to develop an article ... and like before, helping her with some details.

We're not limited to Ms Lewis .. simply thought she might be a good person to begin with ... the more that's published on a subject, the more speed it gains ... the more press FNMA, FHLMC, HUD, etc gets on problems ... the more they may take note.

Just a thought I wanted to get some feedback on.
