What is this crap?! I have seen this pop up maybe 3 or 4 times in recent weeks, while on this site, and with other sites open on different tabs in Firefox. What is jerktwo.stream? See the url.

I did not call the number, I did close the window and reboot each time, no problem.
Windows Defender and Malwarebytes say no problemo. But it's ticking me off.

i've seen it popup on the AF too. and one of those times it caused that windows problem i posted about recently. i now do all my forum browsing on a dedicated laptop that is not connected to any real appraisal data or important info.

An elderly relative called one of those and gave them her credit card number. No matter how many times I said Bill Gates will never call you. So I said, expect to mysteriously have the same trouble in a few months, because they will be back. Yep. Finally decided it was time to give up the computer.

Did you get the latest Firefox because there was a recent big deal update. Maybe stops the browser hijacking.

I dunno. Mine says Firefox Quantum 61.0. But I have it pretty buttoned down from ads,etc (sorry Wayne, but that is why I got the big fancy banner so I would not feel bad about doing that). I just think there is a lot going on all at once. Doesn't it seem like so many updates are a sign of constant barrage? Plus some scams are just evergreen.

Any new extensions? I think in Firefox you can start in Safe Mode and then see your extensions while they are idle and pick off any weirdos manually. I have been changing computers all while Win10 and other updates are flying in, so I didn't recall which browser annoyed me. So I did a clean install on the new pc of browsers and did not import any bookmarks, etc where I wondered if things could hide. I only added maybe 3 extensions. Figured starting from scratch would be easier than the manual nitpicking that was suggested online. Then as I want them, I add stuff in, one by one.

If I can find where I read it again, I will edit it in.

edit I found this one. Scroll down to the Firefox one. It sounds like this. And a commenter Linares there says Malwarebytes does not recognize these things. Kind of funny since it is on their site

Thanks, Renee. Will have to look it over better later.
Maybe I should re install Windows again, it's been a while. Stupid Windows. :cautious:

Company policy is NO messing with computer settings or shopping online after Happy Hour starts.
