While we're talking about Manufactured Homes:

I did a search of the forum for the word "manufactured" for just the last 3 months and came up with 53 topics that included that word. So you can safely assume that these topics contained information about manufactured homes. That's 53 topics, not posts, there were hundreds of posts within the 53 topics.

So, the point of all this: Do you think it would be beneficial to have a forum for Manufactured Homes? That way we could keep the posts together and it would be great reference material for those who appraise Manufactured Homes.

I personally think a 'Manufactured' is a good idea, but isn't the list of forums getting a litlte lengthy? I gotta use my scroll to get to the bottom anymore ...
or is this the best excuse out there to get the newer better legal size monitor I want

That said, it does seem to be a hot topic...

IF you DO implement this: is it possible to get together a small group of the 'best of' (mostly written by Jo Ann) and place them in a sticky at the top? :D

It's probably a good idea, but please use the term "factory-built" housing since the term "manufactured homes" refers to a certain type of "factory-built" home. Many of the issues that arise during these discussions refer to mobile homes, modular homes, panelized homes, kit homes, etc. as well as manufactured (HUD code) homes.

Actually, a high percentage of the discussions revolve around proper terminology. Jo Ann keeps trying to set 'em straight, but at times it seems to be an exercise in futility.

Well it seems that JoAnn is the expert on Manufactured Housing.

So if JoAnn reads this I am asking for your help and advice on this forum.

#1. JoAnn, do you think such a forum would be helpful? Where we could compile information in one spot about Manufactured Housing?

#2. If so, then JoAnn, would you want to be the moderator of this new forum? Not much work at all, it's pretty easy, especially for a speciality forum like this.

Wayne,

Rich Heyn is certainly correct, but from what I've seen, many people who need help on this subject would not immediately recognize the term as applying to the question they had.

I personally feel we have way to many sub-catagories now! While manufactured housing is a great topic it could be covered right here. Just one man's opinion!

Gotta agree with the G-man.
But I hope poor Jo Ann has her responses saved in Word for cut and paste.

Thank you to every one for the comments! :D

Close to two years ago I posted in the "Appraisl Links" section several sources of information regarding manufactured housing. Haven't had a chance to add some more links that I have found since then. Maybe a "sticky" could be posted to that? Since there are getting to be quite a few different forums. My solution to that though is to just click on the choice of "view posts since last visit" and then I skip the topics I am not interested in and read the ones that do interest me.

But if the majority of posters want a separate forum, I am willing to be the moderator--long as I have a lot of explanation of how! I would also hope that Rich Heyn, Richard Carlson, Tim (TX) and others would contribute and participate quite frequently!!

And I agree with Rich--maybe headed "Factory built housing--manufactured, mobile, modular, etc"
