I have heard mixed information about the proper way to repot mold. I did an inspection of a REO property that has been vacant for several months. The bathroom had mold growing on the walls. What is the correct was to handle this in the report?

Check with your E/O first, some specifically says if a property has mold and you complete the report they will not cover you.

Had a horrible mold case last week...pic attached...still makes me wheeze thinking about it.

Report POSSIBLE mold (Lots of photos)and state remediation may be required.Usually you do not add cost to cure because it's impossible to determine.Remember , we are not experts on mold , or are we , anyway just point it out and let the client grimace..
 
I came across this recently as well. Since I am not an expert on mold, I stated there was some growth on the basement walls and ceilings and called for an inspection.
 
Report it just as you would evidence of wood destroying pests and organisms. Since it is obvious, I would make the report subject to a clearance by an environmental expert.
