I did a rowhome early in the week where the lender came back with a condition about the window bars having padlocks removed. Happens from time to time, no biggie. I made my statement reflecting the bars, etc....

What made me laugh though, was further down in the conditions, there was one for the borrower -- Borrower to remove advertisements from front window.

This is Philadelphia, South Philly in particular. The advertisement is question was an 11"x14" sign reading "Lets go Flyers".

All I can figure is the underwriter must be a Pittsburgh fan....

That is funny. Maybe the UW was just bored and trying to have a little fun. When things used to be crazy busy, I'd get bored and throw in something harmless for my own amusement. For example, if I was doing a report for a lender who was in some sophisticated place like Manhatten, I'd expand the neighborhood boundaries so I could include a funny name like "Weetahoochie Road."

South Philly - BARS?
Never needed any bars; Housewives would kneecap any Burglar.
-- what has happened to my birthplace?
