Certified General Appraiser
Company: PGP Valuation Inc. is one of the largest and most successful real estate appraisal firms in the world. We offer, in-depth valuation and market analysis and performs thousands of appraisals yearly, spanning the continental United States, Guam and Puerto Rico. Our services are typically ordered by lenders, investors, attorneys, and developers seeking to value commercial real estate assets.

Position: As indicated on our website, PGP has multiple offices throughout the United States, Canada, and Australia. We plan on opening a new branch in Denver, Colorado by May 1, 2008. We are seeking two motivated individuals to begin their training in this industry at this new office location. Each individual would assist a state certified appraiser on a full-time basis. They would receive close, hands-on training in a professional office setting.

Qualifications: We are looking for certified residential appraisers or other individuals with appraisal experience or commercial real estate experience. A 4-year college degree is preferred. Candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to work with urgency and meet deadlines.

Duties: Primary duties to begin would include researching details of sale transactions as well as of economic conditions and competitive property information in various markets throughout the United States. In addition, a trainee analyzes income and expense statements, researches property tax and zoning designations, creates maps, and assists in personal inspections of the subject properties. Duties would eventually include performing entire appraisals from beginning to end.

Compensation and Benefits: All new trainees are on a salary for the first 18 months. Beginning salaries range from $3,000 to $3,800/month depending on experience. Salaries may increase to more than $60,000/year. After the 18-month period, trainees can be considered for going onto a “fee-split” basis, which allows for you to control your income and results in significantly higher income potential. Licensed appraisers receive a higher fee-split and can typically earn $80k to $120k/year or more. It is approximately a 1 ½ to 3-year process to receive state certification depending on your experience and current certification. Additional benefits include medical, dental, 401k, and an education allowance to assist you in completing necessary appraisal courses for licensing purposes.

Opportunity: Opening a new office in this rapidly growing firm is a great opportunity to build a career. Licensed appraisers can choose a career path the fits their long-term desires, whether it is opening a new office, appraising internationally, or becoming a long-term local expert. Thank you for your consideration, and we look forward to hearing from you!
