All states have reciprocity now. Communicating with the DBPR can be a hassle (you don't need to communicate with them its all online), but getting a reciprocal license should be a breeze compared to other states....cough....Illinois...cough....Minnesota...cough.....Wisconsin.

Welcome to the Sunshine State! If you like steak, go to Linda's La Cantina in Orlando, it is worth the hour drive! You are also going to have a helluva view of the SpaceX launches, enjoy!!

Lynne,
Are you being swallowed by a manta ray in your photo? One more thing to watch out for in the Sunshine State!

;) Carlos this coming from a man riding a shark photo.

I'm a Florida Cracker = born and raised in the Sunshine State. I don't ever remember a Manta Ray issue. We have plenty of sharks and gator attacks Every Year sadly. I hope the original poster finds this info helpful and posts again.

Sting rays not Manta rays. Usually only an issue in summer in the gulf, do the sting ray shuffle and no worries.

You're splitting hairs. You have to take Florida law exam, which is not atypical. Other states have similar or more intensive hoops to jump through. For example, Ohio requires a letter of good standing from every state that you are licensed in, which is ridiculous as they can go on the ASC website in a few clicks and check licensure status.

You're probably right. But.
Years ago, a friend of mine was moving to Annapolis from Philly. To get a Maryland license she'd have to jump through several hoops. But, Delaware had reciprocity with both PA and MD.
So, get a DE license, and with that in hand, get the MD license. No tests, no checking education, just two paper applications and two fees to DE & MD.
That's Reciprocity.

Splitting hares nets you some tasty rabbit, ask any lawyer. LoL
