I never heard of this before but saw it in todays Charlotte Observer. This concerns statements made on a blog and in emails by students about a teacher.

I wonder if this law could be used to prosecute a lender for blacklisting and bad mouthing an appraiser. Many of us have had emails from brokers telling us they will ruin us, that we will never work again....etc. etc.

"State law makes it illegal to "electronically communicate to another and to knowingly make any false statement concerning ... indecent conduct or criminal conduct of the person ... with the intent to abuse, annoy, threaten, terrify, harass or embarrass."
