My wife wants to copy our old vcr tapes over to dvd/cd.

Any recommendations/suggestions on good equipment?

Thanks

You can buy a combo VCR/CD recorder. They allow transfers back and forth, either direction. I bought an RCA a couple years ago when us appraisers had extra money to spend :) Back then, they were around $250, probably much cheaper now. I too had many tapes I wished to convert, but once the process is over, the device really isn't needed. If you don't have that many tapes maybe it would be cheaper just to pay someone to do this or find a friend who has this capability. Just a side note, I paid a company to convert some important cassette tapes to cd's, and that was rather expensive.

Try a large local photo store they will do it for you for much cheaper than that.

Get VHS to DVD 3.0- has a little converter box - use your VCR and a DVD-writer in your computer. Works like a charm. Cheap too- especially when it goes on sale- I picked it up for $20.
