Wayne:

This is a test. It is only a test. If you decide not to use this software you will advise us to go back to the old forum.

The software looks to be more complete and in the process became somewhat more complex. But isn't that what appraisers are used to?

Dave,

Yes, it is more complex. Yes it will do much more!

However at present we are just testing it. The only way to do that is to get a few posts going.

Thanks for your help!

Is there a trick to going back to the old software?

No, use this!

Seriously I can't get a handle on how this performs unless everyone uses it.

I haven't made a decision yet on it.

Please give it a chance. If we do change to it I will make the old board available and all messages fully searchable.

Wayne:

The major drawback of the new software is that I can't post directly to a specific comment. I can always include the name of the specific author of the comment or post, but it always best to have all post supporting or not supporting a comment running together. Otherwise you increase the possibility of many posters saying the same thing (a lot of duplication). Also I have to go all the way to the bottom of the thread to post a Reply, and when some Threads get big, there will be many duplicate comments unless a poster read every one, which is very unlikely.

AHA, you haven't discovered the "quote" button yet! When reading the post that you want to reply to hit the "quote" button in that post. It will enclose all the text of that post in "quote" tags that will make it show up as quoted text, just like yours did above. You can edit the quoted text, say if you just wanted to address one specific sentence the poster made then delete the rest of the text.

Spend some time with this, you have only made 6 posts, wait until you have used it more to pass judgement!

Expore, click on links! Hint: many of the links are not underlined, but all are blue in color! click on anything blue. Also, pass your mouse over any link you don't understand or any icon and some of them have explanations that will appear when your cursor is hovering over them.

Ask questions!

In the end, I know that no software can please everyone! However I think this is much improved over the old.
