Just speculation - nothing more.

It was reported in the U-T today that Mitt Romney is coming to California - he is in escrow to buy an oceanfront house in La Jolla.

The U-T suggested that Romney could be establishing residency in California with an eye on the governor's seat when Arnold is forced out by term limits in 2010.

Mitt, the Governator?

I'd vote for him. He seems to be honest.

And here in CA his Mormonism should be a plus. Not a negative like in the Bible Belt.

If we can get rid of Arnold Shriver, I'll be happy.

I was surfing there this weekend and didn't see him. I'll keep my eyes open and update you when I have news.

As far as politicians go... regardless who they are, when they take office they step into a can of worms. The only way to get to the bottom of the can is to start chewing. Most are disgusted within a few bites, then... they hover around the rim of the can so there is, at least, a perception that they are doing something. About the time the voters start noticing that the can isn't getting empty, the politicians add a few more worms so they can say they have made a change.

Nope. It will be a race between SF mayor Newsome and LA mayor.......Can't think of his name. Gay power Vs Mexi power. I don't think a Republican has a chance. Especially a carpetbagger like Mitt. I think he is buying a beach house in order to view candidates for additional wives.

Newsome can't get his personal life together - he's embarassed himself so many times. Too bad, I used to like him as a mayor. Now he seems to be spending a whole lot more time being led around by his little head instead of the big one.

Such is youth. He'll grow out of it, and, you're right, he needs to get his Big head together.

However, he is still very likeable and it doesn't too much of an imagination to see him as the NEW and improved Jerry Brown.

Wonder who he could get to be his campaign manager? Newsome was best friends with his last one, and showed his appreciation by sleeping with the man's wife. Some friend.
