I just tried to print a report to PDF and discovered that the PDF printer is no longer lit up on my toolbar. If I click on File...my Print Adobe PDF is no longer lit up either.
This thing worked fine two days ago when last used. Any ideas on why all of the sudden I'm having this problem and what can be done to correct it?

Thanks in advance,
Jim

GO the EZ way.
  • Click START
  • Click HELP
  • Click on SYSTEM RESTORE
  • Click "Restore My System to an earlier time"
Pick 2-3 days ago, and let 'er rip.

I had tried restoring it and that didn't work either.
I've got it working but now I can't print anything else to pdf. Pretty frustrating.

I'm amazed it didn't work - drive may be going bad, losing data.
Check it and defrag it.
But FIRST -- BACK UP YOUR DATA !!!

Run Check disk (chkdsk)
  1. Open My Computer
  2. Right click on correct drive
  3. Click on Properties
  4. Click on TOOLS tab
  5. Click on Error Checking button
  6. Check off BOTH buttons
  7. Restart computer and go out and do an appraisal, or start this before bed & leave machine running - takes time! :(
Now Defragment the drive. Same process as above to Tools tab, but hit Defragment drive. Another 10-60 minutes depending on how bad it is.
Machine will now probably run overall better, since files not in tiny parts, just anywhere, but compacted.

NOW Re-install Acrobat.
(( You may have to first un-install it for it to re-install correctly - check their website )) :icon_idea:

Printer should be there at that point.

If not, take sledge hammer and apply judiciously to affected computer

Hi Jim,

Riick's on the right track and that will help verify that your PC is in decent working order. Have you called us in Tech Support yet? Send me a private message if you'd like me to have an ACI tech check it out with you. Another good test is to try and print to PDF through another program such as Word. If Word can print to PDF but ACI is still misbehaving, I am sure it's something we can adjust.

Hopefully we can get it fixed before you resort to Riick's "percussive troubleshooting"!
