Online CE

Have any of you tried the new online Continuing Education by Bert Rogers yet? I was too busy to do the free trial, but am interesting in doing it and paying for it and wondered if the testing was hard, etc.

I did three of the seven tests last night. The questions were not too hard, did not take an extreme amount of time, and any reasonable person with the book in front of them should not have a problem. Each test had a few "gimme" questions, but there was some math (calculating taxes, assessed value, etc.) and as always, there were a few "head scratchers"...could have gone either way.

Definitely requires more thought than sitting through a weekend class...but it's the only way to go.

Kathy - thanks for responding. I am going to try online - did you use Bert Rogers? I'm now getting other companies (cheaper) that advertise online CE. Oh, well, I'll probably go with Bert. I met the nice folks in Orlando that are in charge of the online CE. I thought it might be harder, but I think I'd rather slit my wrists than sit in class again.

No way could I sit in a class!! It's too inconvenient, expensive, and for parents of small kidlets who live 150 miles from the places where they teach the classes...it's a killer. Online CE is the best thing since sliced cheese, cheese whiz, and cheetos. (OK, I'm a cheese junkie.)

My father (also an appraiser) is suffering, sitting through Steve's class in Tallahassee this weekend. He's retired, but doesn't want to give up on his license yet...and is suspicious of ANYTHING online. Poor him!

Also...Steve isn't teaching the class but has a "sub" due to his wife's illness. Oh, well...at least maybe he'll hear some new stories.

Whoo...hoooo - I think Steve is a really knowledgeable appraiser and has good information, but my son that I am training and I can quote the stories verbatim by now. I need to suck it up and start the online CE. We have slowed down just a hair, so perhaps I can get started in the next week or two. Did you say you are doing the Bert Rogers one?

P. S. We will probably drive by you on our way to Tallahassee this coming weekend - going to the FSU/Virginia game.
