It's getting to be that time again...new computer in the near future. I have mine built locally so I can have any operating system I want on the new machine and am asking for feedback on Windows XP, both home and pro editions and on Windows 2000, Professional version.

If you use any of these, please let me know what you like/dislike about them.

Appreciate the input.

My Sony XP has been working great for the last 4 months. I had a few problems intalling the Roxio CD Creator. It really screws up things unless you download the patch and install it EXACTLY per directions. Also had a few problems with my Palm Pilot. All ACI software loaded without a problem. Overall its a great system, much better than ME.

We've been using 2000 pro for the last year or so and been very happy. I'm inclinded to stick with 2000 because it's a little more mature product and the local tech support people seem to have a pretty good handle on it. You might read the license agreement that comes with XP, I think it stinks, XP also keeps closer track of the computer it is installed on and has a limited number of hardware changes and reinstalls that it will allow without having to call Microsoft to get it unlocked.
