The OREA has taken a lot of flak for their customer service, often with good reason. So I thought I'd give them a little credit for change. I sent in my recertification application the last week in May and received my new license yesterday. 2 weeks door to door. Wow!!

From what I heard there's a lot fewer "customers" to "service" these days and I'm confident they haven't cut an staff.

Did the online renewal (2 year cycle) last month. Uploaded PDF of completion of USPAP update. Paid by credit (ugh). Received license in mail in 7 days!!!!! Proceeded to check weather channel for oncoming lightning storms, and bought a lottery ticket.

I recently renewed my license (CA) and waited until 3 weeks before to mail it in. I called them when it got there and told them times were tough and I am sorry I sent it so late. They said they are getting a lot of calls from appraisers saying they could not afford to send it in 90 days before and they understood. I had my license in my mailbox 3 days before my expired.
