Pay at the door

Had a message on my answering machine Friday from a gentleman who needed an appraisal for a bankruptcy. I called today and his phone number is no longer a working number. Gotta love it. If he calls back, I think I may ask for cash at the door.

I do lots of bankrupcy work. You should always talk to the attorney before inspecting the property. On some occations the client will deposit the appraisal fee with the attorney, on other occations the client pays at the door. Sometimes the appraiser must be approved by the court BEFORE inspecting the property. If you discuss the case with the attorney in advance you head off trouble, are guaranteed payment and have a new source for additional work.
