Be aware that there are ramifications (known as well as unknown) for removing protection of a PDF File. I was not impressed by the recent email received with instructions to remove protection for BOFA files from Bradford. If BOFA wants to attach their proprietary cover page; I believe they should find a way that does not challenge the integrity of the appraisal file. Partial copy of announcement attached --

" It has come to our attention that appraisals performed for Bank of America need to have the appraisal PDF unprotected. The reason is that BofA adds a proprietary cover page to the appraisal PDF before they send it the borrower. They cannot do this if the PDF is protected. We have been notified, that if they cannot add the BofA cover page, they will start rejecting appraisals produced by ClickFORMS and more importantly, will stop issuing orders to you. So when creating the PDF, please make sure it is unprotected.

This is an easy change. When you are ready to create the XML and PDF of your report, uncheck the "Protect PDF File" option as shown below.

Additionally, you want to send an email to your AMC and your BofA contact that you are now submitting the appraisal PDF with the Protected Flag OFF to ensure that you continue to receive orders."

Um, that would be a no. I've refused to do it in the past with no ramifications.
