An appraisal school has contacted me with an offer of free online CE courses if we will take them ASAP and give feedback.

Anyone interested, let me know here and I'll send your name, number, etc to them.

My only question would be - does this count toward our continuing education or not? I don't want to take a course and have it not count. The last I heard the courses are all still pending approval by the state. Anyway, I guess it's worth a try! Did you sign me up for this? I need to straighten out my registrations with Wayne and haven't had the time to read anything he sent me. I'll try to do it this weekend. I'm determined not to work all weekend!

YES! It is just now approved by the state and almost ready to go on line. It will count for your CE. I've agreed to take at least one course even though I'm already over my needed number of CE hours for this period. It's a well known school that wants good intelligent feedback.

For free, lets see I could save $200 to $300, for a little time and, writing comments, or spend $200 to $300 to be able not to tell them what I think. Hey isn't that what we do here every day tell people what we think for Free. I am up for bring on the Free : )

Hi guys,
I got a call from Alex Gris? with Burt Rogers school (407-942-8838) yesterday. They want some appraisers to test their 30 hour program and give feedback in 2 weeks. He said he would e-mail the table of contents to me and I could choose which parts of the course I wanted to take. However many hours I took would count toward CE. I asked if I could take the whole 30 hours. He didn't say no, but said they would prefer to have a lot of appraisers each taking 5-10 hours of the course so as to maximise feedback.
I believe he said you had to pass an exam to get CE credit.

Welcome Mike!

I would say any one of us will get a chance at at least one class free. Let's try not to take too much advantage of them. This is a great opportunity for those of us that get to do this.

The test I assume is to prove that you really did pay attention to the class materials. I think it's a very good idea and wish all classes had tests that are mandatory to pass for the CE credit. Might stop some of those that sleep in back of the class. Those are usually the ones that need it the most.

Now that I've learned how to post..........

I am looking for a State Certified appraiser to do work on a split fee basis in Pasco County and/or Pinellas County, if anyone knows of anyone looking for more work. They could have whatever volume they wanted, one a week?, five a week?
Mike

Hi Mike,

Happy to hear Alex Grist got in touch with you all and hope you all don't mind your names and contact information being provided to him. He called this week to mention their online examinations had been approved and their online and distance learning offering are now available.

Although I'd like to take adavantage the offer he's providing, there is a slight ethical problem with the state. Guess I'll be in the pay as you go group.

I guess we all have some CE credit for the FREAB meetings we attended. I am, of course, real interested in the free things!
