They bring back fond memories for me but are becoming very rare.
Incinerator?

I saw a similar thing a while back, had no idea what it was. Dad said incinerator.

We have very large ones for the guys at sawmills. Some are 50' or higher. There used to be some charcoal kilns back in the brush on a place I knew on the Kenwood Reservation. I bet they've been torn down.

Sawdust burner. Some of my earliest memories are moving to Oregon and seeing (and smelling) these things along the way.
