Most expensive $1000 car you ever bought. :leeann2:

J/K. hopefully with those fixes it will be good for years to come.
I'd bet he gets another 100K out of it. penny a mile.

needing a 4x4 for country inspections since i lowered my car the search was on! the result was atypical. got a 1998 honda crv 4x4 with 100k single owner miles from a 96 year old lady. dents and rust sure but solid. needs brakes, belts and an alternator but for 1k you cant beat it.View attachment 42589
The #1 good thing about a beater car for work is that there is no more depreciation to be wrung out of it. When I would complain to my mechanic about his shop rate, he'd remind me that the cost of maintenance and repair were markedly less than the tax savings of deducting the mileage.

last time that truck see a carwash was when? lol
It was starting to snow... after 2 or 3 miles of brutal dirt road. It's dirt roads almost all the time. I wash it when it's sunny and I feel in the mood. Rural people like a rural appraiser in a dusty rural truck.

The car I had before this sat too low to even think about dirt roads.
Always scraping the chin on driveways.
