Ok not thread bumping! By popular demand I have added the Technology Tools powerpoint I did at OU last fall on the website. Goes over Disto and Tablets, etc.

I have also included the Market analysis key for my analysis I have on the website, to help explain the the two programs I have.

Whats the OU link for the ASA classes. Can you post it here for everyone to click on too...

OU and ASA re seperate entities and offering.

OUs link is www.sba.oakland.edu/CE

Thanks Brian, I enjoyed viewing the PDF's and learned alot about tax appeals.
The conservation easement job - wow, tough! (I love that area) And, after viewing Technology Tools powerpoint I feel like I carry a piece of slate and a chunk of coal in the field! Wish I had the Win Total software rather than ACI, but I will definately be researching any tools I can use with the software I have, or start saving for a new one. :)

Things have drastically changed in technology since that presentation, I am now using a Fujitsu Lifebook computer for field work. I'm not using Davinci or Medina...and have blown more money on tech stuff I thought would work before I got this great configuration.

Conservation easements and preservation easements are my niche, but I like hem because they keep things new and challenging. Tax appeals is my new area I am developing a niche around, not excatly a big money maker yet...but a couple more years I could see that being a siginificant portion of my income.

I'm glad you liked them, hopefully you got something out of them...hopefully the price was not too high :)

I want my money back. :)

I took a look at your Tech PowerPoint and it's nice to know I am up to date, pretty good for a guy who started in the biz one year before you were born.

Had to laugh when you mentioned ancient DOS programs, you were never around when it was an IBM Selectric and a secretary doing the work, rub off arrows, Polaroid photos, those were the days!

You glossed over PDAs or at least you did on the PowerPoint. I started using the Palm Pilot in 2001 and upgraded to the Palm Treo 3 years ago, without a doubt the most used high tech tool I have. I downloaded the HP 12 software into it; I use it to open up lock boxes; it's obviously a phone, and if I ever decide to make the leap I'll get email and text messaging; the camera is decent enough to use in a pinch if I leave mine at home; and you can set alarms for certain dates, like my wife's birthday. That alone makes it worth the price of admission.
I recently purchased the Samsung UMPC, great little computer that should shave time for me.

... anybody remember Rita Bell plugging careers as a key punch operator week day mornings on Channel 7?

I recall my first intro-computer class @ U of M Dearborn...... loaded my 5" stack of punch cards into the IBM card reader and the program ended up running in an "infinite loop"... talk about high tech obsolescence :)
