I know this was a long title, but this is exactly what a lender wanted me to sign the other day. Have any of you ran into this? I refused to sign it because it stated things like "R-13 Insulation at basement rim joist"...etc. Very specific and they said I was the first Appraiser that refused to sign it.

Im am knowledgeable about homes and specifically marketability as it relates to various markets and amenities, not a builder, and as an Appraiser and to put myself out to know specifics about insulation or other specific engineered traits of a home seem a bit excessive, specifically in this day and age of people looking to Appraisers for liability.

I believe the form has a comment section - this is where you put statements that insulation was not observable and you are not an expert in this area., or whatever you want to say.

This form does not have to be signed if you are FHA approved as I understand it.

Thank you Mary, I was not given those options. Is there any nomenclature from FHA or their sources I could send to the lender so that they may understand this.
