Found this in an article from the Prescott paper. The supervisors say a second kitchen requires a zoning change to 'duplex' but have not decided about outdoor kitchens.

"Two other questions came up about homes not having an existing outside entrance near the second kitchen, and whether adding a full kitchen to an exterior outdoor patio area constitutes a duplex."

What fun....

I am glad I work in the Midwest. Many old homes had summer Kitchens in a shed behind the house to keep the heat of cooking away from the living and sleeping area. Many modern homes have canning kitchens in the basement or garage for preparing the garden crops. We are stipped to death with them squeezing in from the coasts. What will the next frenzy of requests?

Lots of McMansions have second kitchens in family rooms. They aren't duplexes.

We have a second kitchen in the basement.

It is a mother daughter house.

Not sub-dividable nor rentable as a duplex.

Some more expensive type places here have outdoor kitchens.
Probably by the pool.
For entertaining, they have a nicer every day kitchen inside. :peace:
