Hi Gang -

I'd like to email my reports directly from ACI - which I've never done before - and was wondering how to set it up.

I am running Vista and using Windows Mail. I've looked at the options within the software and I'm not sure where to plug in my email server info. It seems like Outlook is the default mail program and I tried setting up my info within the Direct Lan section but I keep getting an error message (General Failure).

Is it possible to use Windows mail with ACI or am I stuck with manually attaching reports to my email?

Thanks for your help!

Sunny

convert to pdf-the pages you wish to ship-some want the invoice seperate.
go to your email program- sent file(s) as an attachment,

Sending ACI file

Thanks, Arkie Ed, but I'm looking to send the actual ACI file.

BTW - I'm sending the file to a company I work for, not the client.

Thanks!

do not convert it--email the report by attaching the file # you gave it at start.

i assume your office has ACI.

they then click on the attachment ---voli-there it opens.

used to do it all the time to my home computer.

File Send then you get to choose what program to send it with - I don't know if yours will appear - my e-mail is outlook.

The program puts the report in a e-mail ready for you to address.

I think this is where my problem lies. I don't get my email application as a default - only Outlook or Exchange.

Is there some way to work around this?

Thanks all!

Sunny

BTW - The Microsoft folks were so kind as not to include Outlook with Vista (-: Outlook will cost me another $100 if I choose to purchase it.

Have you tried going to Options, Mail Services. There you can add an FTP. Don't know if this will work or not, but worth a try . . .

Yikes - sending an ACI file is an invitation for someone to alter your report without your knowledge or permission. You should NEVER send it in ACI format, only in locked PDF.
