In the early 90's my wife and I drove 350 miles to St. Louis for a workshop on CD's.

The recorder cost $5,000 and the indexing cost about $2,500/disk. That was a bit out of our budget.

1-Yesterday I bought at Best Buy a 52 x 24 x 52 CD-RW burner for $19.99(+ tax, after all rebates)

Got CD_CREATOR 6, (about $49 now)it will span multi disks.

10 CDs will back up all my stuff. Started to buy an external to save, no way, put one in all computers, at that price I think I will put one in my TRS-80.

2- bought a Panasonic KXP-7100 DUPLEX lazer printer ($179) and a little $29 program call Fine Print that will print reduced, 2 up, 4 up and booklets.
Printed the APEX 218 page manual on 53 pages of legal paper in booklet form.

What else can you ask for?

You could ask for an office suite as capable as M$ Office, but which is absolutely free. It opens and writes all MS Office file formats. It does not have an equivalent to MS Access, but it can open and read any database that has ODBC capabilty. Try HTTP://www.openoffice.org for details and downloads.
