Thanks for the link. My personal opinion is that till it happens we will continue to see more and more attempts by the Realtors and Mortgage Lenders to get us out of the picture. And if we dont organize they will most likely succeed.

One voice is the answer. The problem is that most of the other organizations have more residential appraisers than commercial, while the AI is dominated by Commercial (MAI) appraisers. I did a non-scientific analysis of the membership and over 70% of the membership is either MAI or SREA. Many of the SRAs have MAI designations also and as such are primarily commercial orientated. They don't want to give up their clout, so the residential appraiser stagnates in the organization.
