We all know the trickle down theory.

give the big corporations tax breaks and money and perks and in turn those will "trickle down" to the workers who will benefit with more and better jobs.

well, seems to me, this theory has been wrong. all that seems to trickle down is greed.

give the big guys tax breaks and they just give themselves big perks, raises and golden parachutes while they run the business into the ground.

so, the guy at the top thinks only of himself. What is the guy below him going to think? Hey, upper management doest care, why should I?

travel down the chain, each level seeing the level above is interested in only themselves. Our industry is a good case in point on this. Golden parachutes at the top results in fraud, incompetence and the pathetic situation our economy is in now.

Fairness, Honesty and Ethical behavior seems to have gone the way of the dinasaur.

Jo, I see your point about the abuses at the top of corporations, but higher taxes is not the answer. Higher corp tax, is what has driven corporations out of the country. By the way corporations don't pay taxes, they only collect it, and guess who they collect it from; the people that purchase their product. That is trickle down taxes. Punish the rich and you punish the middle class. The poor, well they don't pay taxes.

If one of the current proposals, by one of the presidential candidates occurrs, the amount of REAL tax burden on the middle class will be incredible.
We are finally seeing oil prices come down and gasoline prices with them. Taxing Big Oil will only result in higher costs for the public.

One can aruge that trickle down doesnt work, but the only way it doesnt work is when there is a dam placed in the stream. Remove the dam and the trickle continues. All corporations should be looking at removing the dams in their organizations as should all business people.

When we are in a country that produces nothing and imports everything, we are in trouble. Tax corporations heavily for having their operations over seas, give them tax breaks to return to the US ... its not hard to see or understand the consequences of such a plan.

God help us all.

If either of the current proposals, by either
of the presidential candidates occurs, the increase
in tax burden on the middle class will be large.

NOTE that each of the candidates is a magician,
and says HE CAN DO IT WITH NO TAX INCREASE
...or with increases only on the "Rich"
(:)rof: As in those making over $20,000/yr. :rof: ))

Jim.. you're right. Shame on me, I got it wrong.
One candiate is clearly a better magician than the other.
That one says he won't even have to raise taxes on the rich.
