They make little or nothing for quite a while, then they make a little, later on you may be able to make some, eventually enough to live on, after a few years a select few actually make quite a bit. It's all relative. :rofl:

Read some of the threads in the Newbies/Wannbe's section.

Income will vary depending on a number of factors, but you would be safest to assume that during the first year you will be doing well to make enough to put you above poverty level.

You will make more as a real estate sales agent than as an appraiser with the current market. The only real advantage that an appraiser has is over the long haul, with sales go in the dumpster appraiser still have other appraisal markets, refi's, lawyers, REO, etc.

If you are looking for money now, use the same amount of time to become an RE.
