Just curious how many of you have trainees or are taking them on in the future.

Is this a trick question? There is not enough work out there for most Certified people! Can't share an empty basket.

I have three people under my name. My brother, who is a broker and doesn't appraise. My wife, who has four kids and our house to manage, which is way over my head, so she doesn't appraise. And a women I took on a couple of years ago that I never hear from and who stopped doing work due to family issues. I see no reason to take her off my license as I have no intention on working with any trainees now nor in the foreseeable future.

No trainees for me right now. Barely getting by myself.

:fiddle:

Interesting... Your area is listed as one of the 10 hottest markets on an article in CNN today. I agree with you whole heartedly, but after I read that, I specifically kept my eyes open for Rochester appraisers.

I should clasify myself as a trainee, maybe I will get more work that way.

I heard thru the grapevine that in Ky. there has been no one apply to start their process in the last year.

Ok, sorry about the trick question question! Guess I am a grouch today.

The real estate here in Rochester has remained stable, and compared to the rest of the country, sales are good. Re-fi's have dried up, so the sales that are happening are spread among many. We see some signs, higher foreclosures, etc., but we never really hit the high, so the low if it comes should not be to bad.

Had a trainee two years ago but he was too lazy to get out of bed and come to work. I canned him fast.
