I did a search and could not find an answer to my dilemma.
The subject is a newer REO listed for sale with an UNFINISHED pool.Just plain unfinished gunite .No deck, just wire mesh and a dirt backyard. The house itself is in good condition. Can this be done with say a $7500 cost to cure or does it require an estimate from a pool contractor? The listing price is approximately 10 % below comparables in neighborhood.

No! "Subject to" completion of the pool.

I'd say a big hole full of rusty metal in the backyard is a safety hazard.

Completion or removal and fill.

I agree. There may be a good reason NOT to finish it such as no permits and high ground water level.

Thanks for all replies.I appreciate the input and can now finish the assignment!

I always think of the "Triple S".....Safety, Security and Saleability.

I think the unfinished pool violates all three!

I agree, must be completed or filled in.
