I have seen your post every time I have come into this section but never read it. I always assumed it was explaining what the section was about. Given the title and being fimilar with the forum it never hit me to read it until today. Could you please expound on what you mean by users groups. Several of the formites and I have been talking about forming a appraisers watch dog group. So I am very interested in some of the tools you maybe talking about.

User groups would be just like one of our forums, except the only people that can read or post to them would be those invited by the group leader unless it was an open group, then anyone who wanted to could join. I will set up a user group for anyone who has a need, as long as the topic has something to do with appraisal. I haven't tried this feature, but intend on setting up a user group called Test to see if it works.

Okay now I have set up a private user group called Test. I am the moderator and you are the only member. You should be able to see the forum at the bottom of the other forums under "user groups". You and I are the only one that can see this. And if you log out you will not be able to see it, (nor would I if I logged out). That's the way it works. The moderator (which would be the group leader) can add members to the group. They would need to know the user name of the member. There is look up feature if you know part of a user name. The type of group (open, private, or hidden) would dictate how the users joined.

User groups can be: Open, Private, and Hidden
Open would be for anyone that wants to join.
Private would be by invitation, however the membership list would be displayed when one clicks the user group icon.
Hidden would be by invitation and also the membership list would be hidden.

Let me know if you have more questions. We'll learn more about it when there is an actual group.

Also I have moved this post to the Forum Help section so others can benefit from it.
