I get a call today from a Loan originator who used to work for a local MB here in town. They (as a policy) quit using me about 5 years ago over a value dispute and several other little things I wouldn't do...like complete a 442 on an unfinished house, etc...Real typical cruddy stuff from these guys.

So he calls me today and says he needs me to do a condo for him, that he saw I was on %$%star's list of appraisers. I say yes, and he tells me a little about the property. He then goes on to mention that Skippy has already done one, but was recently taken off the list, and is about to hit me up for some reduced fee in exchange for showing me the appraisal.

I simply tell him that I don't think I would want to regurgitate or in anyway substitute my own research and analysis for someone who just got kicked off the panel.

He then proceeded to send me the order, no mention of values, or estimates or anything...just sent it on.

That, my friends, is what it is all about. The tide will turn, these SOB's will see thier day come to an end.

LOL, yes, but he just got back from the Vet and hasn't rolled around on any dead frogs yet...

I am not 100% sure, but I think I may be the only one left on this list...I don't think he has a choice.

I had a mortgage broker friend tell me that they've been told, based on the new law in Iowa, that they can't give any indication of value, that it is leading and a violation of our new law. They CURRENTLY, can pick their appraiser, but he said even if the APPRAISER asks him what value he is looking for that he can't say it.

Maybe legislation will work.
