Norton AntiVirus quarantined this virus on my computer yesterday about noon. I've been religious about updates, but this was interesting in that N AV couldn't fix it. All it could do was quarantine until I deleted it. Thanks to Norton, I didn't even open the message, much less the attachment. Didn't recognize the sender and typically I'll just delete any emails I don't recognize.
Keep Safe!!

Nancy's post reminded me of something. If you have Norton Anti Virus (and I am sure most others offer something similar) you can set Norton LiveUpdate to download the latest virus definations on a set schedule.
For instance I have mine set to download the latest virus definitions everday at Noon. You can set it to do it at 2 in the morning if you like. Once properly set up you do nothing. It will connect to the internet, down load the latest virus info, install and then disconnect from the internet. This way you are always up to date and never forget!
In case you don't know this your virus software HAS to be updated regular. If you don't and an new virus comes out most likely your Anti-Virus software will not be catch the virus. So set up to Auto Update programs!
See my post below. Got my machine on the 17th. McAfee found it on 18 files in a mere few minutes. To clean it, McAfee had to delete the files. I now have to reinstall these. Fun fun fun. Why don't these people with such an ability for code and innovation put their skills to something positive, or at least monetarily beneficial :?:
If I were into such nasty practical jokes, it wouldn't be any fun at all if I couldn't watch the response and results of my efforts. Wonder what the reward is for these sickos :?:
