I require the water to be turned on for FHA appraisals. The Realtors and Loan Officers hate it. Am I in compliance by requiring the water to be on at the time of my appraisal appointment or a repair inspection is required?????????????

Your right, they are wrong. It should either be on or subject to a plumbing inspection.

You are correct.
The only other way I have seen it done is to report the "WATER WAS TURNED OFF- recommend inspection to ensure working condition".
That way the DEUW will have to either sign off (Waive) and say they don't need it, or agree with you and get an inspection. Either way someone will have to answer to HUD if they don't have an inspection in the file when it goes to FHA.
I really like using the "recommend" word, that way I can tell the LO your underwriter can always waive it.
( nothing quite as nice as telling a LO
"I can't beleive your Underwriter won't waive it the other Underwiters do it all the time":rof: )
