Reason number 1.

Appraising is still a great profession because if you are good at it, there are a zillion different career paths you can take.

So, why is it still good to you?

#2 It allows me to do what I like to do, and what I am good at.

#3 - I am wearing PJs and not in a cubicle right now.

Seriously, as hard as it is sometimes, the upholding of an ethical standard is the best reward in appraising.

Yep - it's just too bad you have to go broke doing your job. :new_all_coholic:

I do feel some positive changes - LO at Suntrust told me the other day that they are ordering appaisals on EVERYTHING. NO SHORTCUTS!!!

But they are using a limited rotation - not AMC a the moment.

Anyone left working directly for a lender - bust your butts to do a good job - we need to prove to them that the AMC's are a bust. :new_2gunsfiring_v1:

I love being able to kayak in the daytime and work at night. The freedom appraisal gave me made for a really cool lifestyle.

I like the isolation of being an honest man in a dishonest world.
It makes me feel like Johnny Rotten of the Sex Pistols.

We solve the problem, but not the issues every time we provide a service.

Being in a position to be able to spot and buy the steals of deals before anyone else does.

Studying growth patterns every day to know where one should buy land to wait for the growth to come to them.

I like the appraisal profession for the weeks in between assignments. It affords me time to do things like....well.....nothing that requires money. :new_all_coholic:
