The American Dictionary Society chose "subprime" as 2007's word of the year at its annual convention.
"Subprime has been around with bankers for a while but now everyone is talking about "subprime" As prefix "sub" translates roughly to " below the standard. Students are referring to their test, " I'm going to subprime this; I'm going to mess it up.

Ron;
Probably should look that one up,also, but anyway, thought of ''sub'' being below waterline, as submarine.

Like Big bank Morgan Stanley's word of year in 2007;
''Citigroup is short[stock] idea of 2008'' Not a stock tip or advice.
Cool as a pair of sunglasses.
