I have been getting these spams for the longest time ever since I signed on with Certmail, can't get rid of them. Is it my machine? my provider? I have tried doing a rule for it, but will not go away. Any Ideas any body.

al,

I get them, too. Did you get an Xsite and link Certmail to Outlook? I did and Outlook's filters are not very useful. Certmail has a blocked sender's list, have you used that? I still get a lot of spam but I hold out hope that it will get better.

Or did you link Certmail directly to some other carrier?

I'm used to AOL mail and they do a better job blocking spam than any other of my providers. I don't use Certmail for anything except communicating with my clients.

Sbcglobal.net spam was so bad I quit using their email. That was a few years ago, they may have improved since then. My DSL/internet access is through SBC but I keep AOL as an add on just for their email.

I use Road Runner. I still have my certmail linked to my main email.

Not sure if this is what is going on, but I did come across this.
Extensions Blocked by IAS

The Institute's e-mail servers will block a number of e-mail attachments. This is done for security reasons. Viruses have become an ever increasing problem, and are most widely spread through e-mail. To help limit the Institute's vulnerability we have made it a policy to prevent the transmission of certain types of files.

If an e-mail attachment is blocked it will be replaced with a plain text file. The text file will be named DELETE0.TXT. Inside the TXT file will be information about the file that was removed. If the file type is one that is not blocked by the Institute, but you do receive the DELETED0.TXT file, it is because the e-mail attachment was infected with a virus.

If someone is trying to send you a legitimate file, but it is being blocked, have them send the file in a different format. If they are not able to, contact the Help Desk (x8044) for assistance.

Note: Do not ask the sender to send the blocked file in a ZIP file. ZIP files are also blocked.

Could it be your ISP's anti virus software?

This is not from Alamode, but just something I googled and found.

Hope it helps.

just F.Y.I
I use certmail (since Feb 2005), and I have not recived any these.

Thanks Greg, I know that it is not a Alamode issue, but they were getting it and when I had certmail foward to my main mail, Alamode has corrected the issued. Still, it is continueing, with my main email. Can I stop it? Do I have a bug, how bad is the situation? I my aniti virus indicates everything is OK. I get email spam, from fbi, cia, ebay, yahoo, etc. and majority have DELETED0.TXT. and others that I do not even email too.

I am getting dozens of these a day, as well. I am told that it is a worm, and it is either Beagle or Sober. It can come from many sources. I think mine are coming from my Board of Realtors, or at least originated there, because the senders addresses are many times members of the local board. I have tried using Mcaffe Spam Blocker, and it gets some, but not all. If anyone has a way to stop them, LET US KNOW!!!!
