Working on a home purchase appraisal, the front concrete driveway slab has heaved upwards 1 to 2 inches in front of the garage door and garage interior slab. The interior garage slab appears normal. The heaved slab appears to be a replacement slab poured sometime in the recent past. This appears to be a trip hazard due because of the height its already raised up, to me anyway, but since this issue was "repaired" once before recently and the pouring of a new slab didn't "cure" the issue, Im wondering if there is a large rock of something under the drive slab which is still moving due to natural freeze/thaw issues. Anyway...do I just disclose and require a qualified professional to provide a repair option/recommendation and his/her cost for the repair and make the report subject to this inspection?? Just removing the concrete and pouring a new slab didn't work before.
