Hello Indiana Appraisers. We have not had a post in over a year. Lets get some posts and some news that are pert-ant to Indiana. Is business slow or picking up. Are you doing any of the hybrid appraisals. What are the fees? Is there a future for appraisers. Lets get some appraiser opinions on the economic conditions going forward.By the way I just completed a appraisal for a midwest AMC and they charged me $13.50 tech fee. Is this fair?

I'm not in IN but if this puts it into perspective ... Mercury Network charges $15.50 (some of my clients pay it, some I have to pay)

Another (very small) AMC I work with (Northeast AMC) charges $11.50

I do very little lender work and no secondary market appraisals so I can't add much to this particular line of discussion.

As far as market conditions, in the Indpls and donut county area the market is crazy with almost no listings in the average price ranges. If something is listed it is usually sold, over list price, within a few hours. Its been like that for a couple of years now with no end in sight. Housing has been very cheap relative to a lot of the country for so long that its finally catching up.
