Since PA put up the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance website last Saturday I have been trying to submit my claim. I keep getting stopped at the employment history section as I cannot identify an employer. I tried "independent contractor" and "sole proprietor" but it always asks for an employer. Since I am not an LLC I don't have an employer other than myself. Has anyone else tried to submit a claim and been successful? What was the solution?

You may be to early for Independent Contractor application from the paperwork I've reviewed here in my area. Keep looking and good luck

I had the same problem. On the second try, I found my own EIN number and entered it in the search for employer. Then my business came up and I could continue. The problem is that the whole website so far is being done half-a$$ed. Not only does it take a good minute or two for each page to process (with each field requiring one page each), it has little relevance to the self-employed and is still geared to regular hourly workers. It also has apparently not been proofread for content; there is a phone number for UC benefits given on one page as 1-800-555-5555, an obvious placeholder number that's not a real one.
The next problem comes when actually applying for weekly benefits, especially if claiming for partial benefits. I'm starting a new thread on this above to see if anyone else has figured anything out.

It appears most of the issues are corrected. I was able to submit the application for PUA on May 1st. Yesterday I received a letter of determination (amount I will receive). My profile page on the PUA site shows all issues resolved. Now I just have to wait for the money to show up. BTW, no weekly claims submission at this time.
